Un vecchio hangar Eni/Agip in disuso, una grande stazione di servizio, un’arteria in una regione di confine, in fondo alle montagne, a picco sul mare. Filling Station Motel è uno spazio dedicato ai viaggiatori moderni, particolarmente amanti delle due ruote. Il nome stesso richiama l’origine dei primi motel Eni/Agip, costruiti in tutta Italia negli anni ’50, come servizio di supporto per grandi distributori di benzina. L’attività principale di FSM è l’officina motociclistica, che esegue il servizio di riparazione e customizzazione di motocicli a marchio FSM, segue il concept store dedicato agli amanti delle due ruote e non solo, e l’Osteria, che offre piatti ottimi piatti e vino locale. Il progetto, interamente ideato e curato da Visual Display , ha comportato un notevole rinnovamento non solo della facciata originale, restaurata mantenendo porte, finestre e materiali originali, ma anche dell’area esterna adiacente con la creazione di un parcheggio privato e un progetto verde sia esterno che interno.
Grandi finestre trasparenti e pareti divisorie in rete metallica collegano tutte le aree e guidano l’ospite attraverso le diverse zone. È possibile sorseggiare un buon bicchiere di vino comodamente seduti su divani poltrone e sedute vintage, o negli oltre 5 metri di bancone da lavoro adattato ad hoc, spiando inoltre i meccanici all’opera, attraverso i due giganteschi oblò che separano l’officina dall’area lounge. La contaminazione di sguardi, stili e spazi diventa parte integrante dell’esperienza che rende Filling Station Motel un ambiente retrò ma innovativo allo stesso tempo, una sosta tra passato e futuro.
É un progetto interamente ideato e curato da Visual Display.

An old disused Eni Agip hangar, a large service station, a thoroughfare in a border region at the bottom of the mountains, overlooking the sea. Filling Station Motel is a space dedicated to nowadays travelers, two wheels lovers and locals. The name itself recalls the origin of the first Eni Agip motels, which were built throughout Italy during the 1950s, as support service for large petrol stations. The main business, the motorcycle workshop, performs repair and customization service as well as the production of motorcycles with the FSM brand. It is flanked by the concept store dedicated to the lovers of two wheels and not only, and the Osteria offering simple and seasonal food with excellent local wine and some Italian excellence. The project, totally edited and curated by Visual Display , involved a remarkable refurbishment not only of the original façade, restored maintaining the original doors, windows, and materials but also of the adjacent outdoor area with the creation of a private parking and a green project that continues indoor. Beyond the entrance gate, underneath wide concrete arches painted in black, the workshop areas, offices, a convivial space and the Osteria have been created. Large transparent windows and wire mesh divisions connect all the areas and lead the guest through the different areas even with a glance. You can sip a good glass of wine comfortably sitting on vintage furniture or standing at the imposing concrete counter. Or you can have something to nibble while observing the motorcycles on display or watching the mechanics at works, beyond two gigantic portholes. The contamination of looks, styles and spaces become an integral part of the experience that makes Filling Station Motel an environment retro and innovative at the same time, a stopover between past and future.
The project is totally edited and create by Visual Display. ·TO·DO was called for the furniture consultancy, the research and supply of all the vintage furnitures and props.
